The “Tree of Life” is a symbol in religion and mythology for the interconnectivity of life, and now researchers at Imperial College London have created OneZoom, the “Tree of Life” explorer.
Originally devised in 2011 by James Rosindell in the hopes of creating “The Google Earth of Biology,” this comprehensive application lets users explore the biodiversity of the planet based along evolutionary routes, with all Earth’s species represented. The video above shows the Christmas tree worm’s place in the Tree of Life, one leaf among 2.2 million.
